Biography:
Born in Long Island and raised a “good little Catholic schoolboy,” Gay Porn star J.D. Slater claimed that from a young age he had no intention of going into porn. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, as well as his Master’s in Clinical Psychology, and worked as an Editor for Blueboy, was the lead singer in the band Frenzy, and ran a promotional company before he finally broke into XXX films. His first appearance was in 1981 in the movie Handsome, and it didn’t take long for J.D. Slater to begin appearing in numerous gay erotica films. By 1986 he had taken up directing and producing, and by 1990 he had opened his own production company. J.D. Slater has been forced to face many obstacles during his time in the industry, for example he was brought up on trial for the production of ‘obscene’ material that could have landed him anywhere from 25 years to life in prison, and he was also diagnosed with cancer, HIV, and tuberculosis all in one blow. He survived though, and kept on moving forward. In 1999 he created Raging Stallion, one of the top gay adult film studios, with Chris Ward and also began to really concentrate on the soundtrack side of making films. He has made huge contributions to the field, performing in 165 films and directing 70. He is an accomplished videographer, lighting technician, and soundtrack composer. He is also a member of the GAYVN Hall of Fame.
